Unsubscribe is the option in which the owner of an email address no longer wants to receive an email and asks to be removed from the list. People can usually unsubscribe either by clicking an “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each email, or by replying to the email with the word “Unsubscribe” in the subject line. This process is also known as opting-out. Including an unsubscribe mechanism is part of CAN-SPAM Federal Legislation.
